Chapter 441 — Entangled in Karmic Debt

The Herdsman of the Wasteland Page 2 of 2

If those demon armies are teleported over and offer themselves in blood sacrifice to revive this divine statue, it will bring down a catastrophe beyond all reckoning.

Are you certain these two teleportation arts of yours can disrupt their blood-sacrifice altar?

" The Deaf Elder was uneasy as well. "My boy, these three pictures of yours, where will they send those demon armies?

" Shen Mu hesitated.

"I cannot change their teleportation.

I can only interfere with it.

.

. " Grey Immortal sighed. "Only interfere.

Which is to say, those demon armies will still be teleported over. " Shen Mu nodded and explained: "Teleportation involves the displacement of space, and displacement of space requires calculations of the most exquisite precision.

I use two teleportation formations to interfere with the mirroring between their two altars.

The interference is not great in degree, but for calculations of such exquisite refinement, a hairsbreadth's error leads a thousand li astray, and a blur's error leads ten thousand li astray; not the slightest mistake can be tolerated.

The moment they activate the two altars, they will. . . " "Human Sovereign Shen, that will not do! " Grey Immortal said flatly.

"This is a matter of survival and annihilation.

It cannot rest on a hairsbreadth's difference, on a blur's difference! No. I will go and fetch the Poison King, have the Poison King lay down his poisons, and poison every demon that comes through.

Come with me, all of you! " A gust of demon wind wrapped around the three of them, and he was just about to leave this underground space when a magnificent power came crashing across distant time and space from another world.

The space around them warped at once; above their heads the vast stone wall twisted and spun, forming an enormous vortex, and everything within the vortex was distorted and gradually turned to nothingness. Hummm— An immeasurably thick teleportation light shone down from that vortex, blazing through toward the magnificent altar in the divine statue's palm.

It was light reflected from the deep void of another world, piercing through the Deaf Elder's first picture and falling upon the altar.

On that palm, stone figure after stone figure stood solemn, half crouched and half kneeling around the altar, and from their mouths came a resounding, deep demon tongue, as though they were chanting some incantation.

At that very moment, the second teleportation formation picture painted by the Deaf Elder lit up, and the immeasurably thick teleportation light underwent a subtle change, a change difficult to detect.

Then suddenly countless figures of demon soldiers appeared within the teleportation light; tens of thousands of demon troops were rushing over from another world. "Too late.

. .

" Grey Immortal's heart went cold. He had barely formed the thought when a strange change erupted: within the teleportation light the countless demon soldiers twisted violently, shattered to pieces in the streaming radiance, and became countless corpses.

The whole enormous pillar of teleportation light turned blood-red; countless living beings screamed and wailed within it, and it availed them nothing.

Grey Immortal was startled, and Shen Mu's voice came to him: "Dragon King God, possess me! " Grey Immortal hurried to look at Shen Mu, and saw him standing at the center of the third picture, with the Dragon King God attached to his back, transformed into a dragon-shaped pattern.

Shen Mu's aura surged violently, though his face was somewhat bleak. "The Heaven-Receiving Gate.

" Behind him appeared a mighty gate, and the pillar of teleportation light twisted and came surging toward him, and countless demon soldiers, humming, passed through that gate one after another.

Suddenly a corpse was flung from the gate, thudding down at his feet, the corpse of a demon teleported into this world. Its limbs were twisted, its head grown out of its chest; space teleportation must have gone awry, forcing its body to recompose and its spirit to recompose, until body and spirit were thrown into utter disorder.

That demon's body had died an unnatural death, while its spirit was left behind in the Nether Capital.

Thud, thud, thud— Suddenly countless corpses gushed out of the Heaven-Receiving Gate, and in the space of a breath a mountain of corpses rose around Shen Mu. The mountain of corpses piled higher and higher, filling the space around the hall.

"All of you, do not blame me. . . " Then suddenly he roused the third picture; the enormous teleportation formation burst forth, its light dazzling, sending everything around the palace away.

Grey Immortal and the Deaf Elder were teleported out as well, their forms appearing in midair; before they landed they saw countless severed limbs and arms appear in the sky, raining a rain of corpses down upon the night of the Desolate Ruins, while more bodies still fell from above.

They raised their heads: on the far side of the teleportation light the Heaven-Receiving Gate stood towering, and before the gate the youth's eyes were brimming, for he had buried an army of tens of thousands of demons.
