Chapter 262 — The Super Seminary, Faerûn

Temporary Worker in the Ninja Village

Two million resource points were spent like water, and two more stable planar channels appeared within the Main God Space.

One was called the [Grand World of Faerûn], the other the [Super Seminary Plane].

Upon receiving the information on these two channels, Wang Xu's lips curved upward slightly.

Not a bad stroke of luck.

These were two multiverses of immense potential and considerable interest, and moreover...

Both of them bore some manner of connection to games.

"As for Faerûn, there is no need for me to descend there in person just yet."

Wang Xu's eyes narrowed slightly, and intelligence concerning Faerûn surfaced from the depths of his mind.

Amn, Calimshan, Thay, the Silvermoon Federation...

Kara-Tur, Maztica...

The Material Plane, the Astral Plane, the Outlands...

The God of Destruction, the God of Light, the Prince of Lies, the Goddess of Darkness...

In his eyes, Faerûn was an exotic-flavored version of the Journey to the West plane; many things coincided without prior arrangement.

For the Reincarnators, it was an excellent place for tempering.

At a mere thought from Wang Xu, the most promising batch of Reincarnators were cast separately into the [Grand World of Faerûn] and the [Super Seminary Plane].

Compared with Faerûn, with its dense and far-reaching webs of intrigue, a slice-of-life plane like the Super Seminary had no inferior power hierarchy, and might even prove more beneficial to the growth of Yan Qiu's overall strength.

The next moment, his mind turned, his body dissolved into a quantum state, and he merged into the cosmos.

In an instant, Wang Xu breached the boundaries and pierced the void, arriving at the Super Seminary Plane.

...

The Super Seminary Plane, Earth.

The Shenhe civilization, the Angel Nebula, the Demon Nebula, the Dark Nebula, the Frayer civilization, gene warriors, god-making projects and arms races spanning tens of millions of years...

Beneath the surface of what seemed an ordinary post-apocalyptic slice-of-life story lurked a great many mysterious things.

For half a month now, people had noticed a gigantic rift in spacetime suspended in the sky.

At first, many of feeble mind frantically spread doomsday rumors, and in their madness even committed all manner of irrational, unlawful acts.

As time passed, everyone calmed down, and gradually grew inured to the eerie cavity in the sky.

Huaxia, Qingquan City.

Wangkelai Restaurant.

A black-haired girl with a single ponytail was dashing clumsily to and fro, striving to do all that a waitress ought to do.

She hurried up to Wang Xu and asked with guileless earnestness, "Sir, what would you like to order?"

"Riven?"

Wang Xu smiled gently. "Why has your hair turned black?"

Hearing a stranger greet her and pose questions with such familiarity, Rui Mengmeng was taken aback.

Wenwen was her pet name; apart from her family, no one ought to have known it.

"The way I used to look, people took me for a delinquent girl, so I dyed it black."

Rui Mengmeng answered honestly.

Her days were far from easy.

Rui Mengmeng was simple and kindhearted, hardworking yet unable to study well.

She wanted to put her younger siblings through school, wanted to make her parents proud and happy; she toiled diligently and earnestly, yet had never accomplished anything of note.

She worked to earn money and support the family, and suffered no end of bullying.

Today, the appearance of Wang Huai'an meant a turning point in Rui Mengmeng's fate.

Seeing her blank, dazed expression, Wang Xu beckoned.

"I'm your cousin from afar. We met when we were little, don't you remember?"

At these words, Rui Mengmeng nodded dumbly and sat down beside Wang Xu.

Her memory truly was not very good, and from the look of him, he did not seem to be lying.

"Hey! Waiter! Where's my food? You damn well went off to chat with someone?"

At table six, a customer who had ordered less than a minute ago began bellowing at Rui Mengmeng.

The man was greasy-haired and powdered-faced, with a great paunch, and his eyes were full of sinister gloom.

Seeing the man's appearance, Wang Xu understood at once.

The fellow was picking a fight on purpose.

It was not that Rui Mengmeng had ever provoked him.

It was simply that this man had taken abuse in his life, dared not vent it on his colleagues or superiors, and so unleashed it upon a waitress.

Wang Xu, who had walked through many worlds, had seen many such weaklings of the mind.

The girl, barely out of society, had never witnessed such a scene, and for a moment she panicked.

"Ah... I'm sorry, I'll be right..."

She had spoken barely half her sentence when Wang Xu raised a hand and cut her off.

"There's no need to pay any mind to this kind of spiritual refuse."

Wang Xu turned his face, his gaze falling upon that passerby, and said in a chilling tone, "Wasting time is tantamount to murder for profit."

"Do you know how precious my time is?"

He observed the quantum foam, and saw the man's future.

This customer, finding no outlet for the malice in his heart, had seen that Rui Mengmeng was easy to bully, and so stretched out a lecherous hand to take advantage of her.

Unfortunately, the man had picked the wrong target.

Faced with the sudden turn of events, Rui Mengmeng's inner fury awakened within her the genes of a second-generation super soldier of the Nova Star.

The foolish and unlucky customer not only failed to gain any advantage, but was struck by a single punch that shattered his five viscera and left him gravely wounded.

After lying in bed for three whole months, the man had barely left the hospital when he met a miserable death amid the chaos of the times.

"Do you know who I am? You dare speak to me like that?"

Though the greasy-haired customer had no real strength, he would not be cowed in front of others, and kept his words blustering and tough.

"A pointless life..."

Wang Xu gave a cold snort, disinclined to waste words on the man, and lifted a hand.

The wind rose.

It was only a harmless breeze.

Yet when it passed through him, the customer who had been so arrogant a moment before became a black-skinned pig, snorting and grunting in place.

At such a wondrous sight, the onlookers nonetheless appeared oddly unruffled.

Wang Xu had tampered with the crowd's subconscious, making them take the black-skinned pig for an ingredient that had just escaped the kitchen.

"Sorry, sorry! This is a fault in our work! Please forgive us, everyone!"

The head chef came rushing from the kitchen with a pig-slaughtering knife, his accent thick.

He scooped the little black pig up in his arms, feeling rather puzzled.

Livestock like this was usually slaughtered at the abattoir; why had he thought to do it himself today?

A baffling sense of familiarity, a strange déjà vu, rose in the chef's heart.

He paid it no mind, and merely hurried back into the kitchen.

The squealing of the pig being slaughtered rang out, and was swiftly cut short by a full stop.

Rui Mengmeng looked at Wang Xu nervously, at a loss as to what this distant cousin of hers wanted with her.

The foresight he displayed far exceeded her imagination.

With a wave of his hand, he turned a man into a pig, and the people around seemed not to have noticed a thing...

This was simply like a wizard out of *Harry Potter*!

No...

More wondrous still than a wizard!

After all, that half-giant wizard in *Harry Potter* whose name no one could quite remember had only made people grow pig tails.

Wang Xu looked at Rui Mengmeng with a teasing glint, one brow slightly raised. "And what is it you ought to call me?"

The girl hesitated a moment, then called out sweetly, "Hello, cousin."
