Chapter 58 — Demon of Demons, Part One

A blood pearl the size of a fist suddenly emerged above King Xuan Yuan Fa's head, and ten thousand streaks of blood-radiance shot out, then melted into the air and vanished. After a short while the blood-radiance reappeared from the void and gathered once more into the blood pearl. Only then did King Xuan Yuan Fa withdraw it. "Good—we've arrived! Below is the territory of Shanxi. I'll show you what true wronged souls and vengeful spirits are."

Zhou Xuan landed on a rather tall hilltop, and there in the distance he saw a city ablaze with lights. He looked it over carefully, then said to King Xuan Yuan Fa, who had come out to inspect it: "Isn't this the outskirts of Gaoping in Shanxi? I've been here before. Is there some formidable demon here? I see nothing amiss—the yin and yang qi are quite well harmonized. Where are these wronged souls and vengeful spirits?"

"Gaoping?" King Xuan Yuan Fa started. "I only knew that this place was once called Changping!"
