Chapter 1259 — Taking Over Your Custody
"He is he, and I am me." Wei Zhao reached out and rubbed Ying Ziyu's colored hair. "Dye this back to black right now, or I'll shave you bald!"
"Ah! Don't touch my hair! My hairstyle!" Ying Ziyu shrieked, glaring at Wei Zhao in a puff of fury. "I'm going to kill you!"
"Be my guest — if you can beat me." Wei Zhao paid her no mind and went on finding fault with her. "And no more of this skintight top. It's holding back your growth. **That's big — squeezed up, isn't it? Next time toss the bra out for me, or sooner or later you'll squeeze it out of shape!"
"Ah—" Ying Ziyu was ready to go mad! She wished she could hack Wei Zhao down with one stroke, but when she thought of how he had dealt with Scar Bear and his men, she was quite certain that if she raised a hand against him, the one who got worked over would be herself!
True, he was her brother's friend and would never really hurt her, but he certainly wouldn't go easy on her either!
Ying Ziyu's underlings all stared at one another, wanting to laugh and not daring to. They had seen with their own eyes just how formidable Wei Zhao was, so toward this business of him insulting their big sister, they dared to rage in silence! You could tell from those few moves of hers alone! Otherwise, how could Ying Ziyu, a mere slip of a girl, have commanded the prestige to become the big sister?
And since Wei Zhao was a friend of Ying Ziyu's big brother, no wonder — no wonder he was so formidable. He was probably a special forces soldier too!
"I don't need you looking after me! Who even knows you?" Ying Ziyu glowered at Wei Zhao, drawing a line between them.
"Your brother asked me to take over your guardianship. It is compulsory. You have no right to resist. Of course, I won't object if you try — I just doubt you have what it takes." Wei Zhao had figured it out too: with a problem girl like Ying Ziyu, he could only use a hard hand. Softness would get him nowhere.
So Wei Zhao's earlier beating of Scar Bear and his men had been the first step in showing his strength; afterwards, his extremely forceful demands that Ying Ziyu change this and change that, phrased as orders rather than as suggestions, were likewise meant to deny her any room to haggle.
"You—why should I believe you?" By now Ying Ziyu had half confirmed Wei Zhao's identity. She had almost never mentioned her big brother's name to anyone, and Wei Zhao's skills were so extraordinary. He ought to be her brother's comrade-in-arms...
Wei Zhao took out his phone and logged into an encrypted online album, from which he pulled up a photo: a group shot of himself with Pangolin and Yang Huaijun and the others. These pictures he had kept sealed in the online album, seldom touched, but since today's business was to make Ying Ziyu believe him, he had to produce some evidence.
"This is a photo of me with your brother, taken five years ago. People like us don't often get our pictures taken anyway." Wei Zhao lowered his voice, speaking quietly enough that only Ying Ziyu could hear: "This one was taken when a mission in North Africa ended. I was the captain. Your brother was one of my men!"
Ying Ziyu was startled. She had never imagined Wei Zhao had been the captain! Then he would be even more formidable than her big brother? Taking the phone, she studied the photo carefully. She had this very picture herself — it had stood on the desk in her brother's room all along, so it was hardly unfamiliar to her; it was just that she had never paid the other people in it any attention.
Now, holding it in her hand and looking closely, she found that the man in the middle of the photo did indeed look very much like the Wei Zhao before her — only far younger... or rather, far more childish!
Ying Ziyu was slightly taken aback. Five years ago, how old had Wei Zhao been? Even now he looked no more than eighteen or nineteen; five years back, wouldn't he have been only thirteen or fourteen? Looking at the little pretty boy in the photo, a trace of a smile slipped across the corner of Ying Ziyu's mouth.
"This is you? You were kind of an airhead back then..." Ying Ziyu said, watching Wei Zhao with a half-smile.
"..." A dark line passed across Wei Zhao's brow. He snatched the phone back. "All right, the identity check is done. From now on you do as I say. Right now I'm taking you to dye your hair and buy clothes! Starting tomorrow, study hard and make progress every day. If you dare go out playing big sister again, I'll... I'll..."
Wei Zhao frowned. For a moment he could not think of any way to punish this Ying Ziyu! In dealing with a girl, he had absolutely no experience. He turned and looked to Feng Xiaoxiao for help.
"If she keeps acting up, just spank her!" Feng Xiaoxiao said.
"If you keep acting up, I'll spank you!" Wei Zhao nodded and repeated it to Ying Ziyu. He thought Feng Xiaoxiao's idea was a good one, though there seemed something off about it, and he couldn't tell what. For the moment he didn't think about it too much.
"..." Ying Ziyu's eyes went wide. Spank me? In all her life, no one had ever spanked her, not even her big brother! And now this captain of her brother's, who had popped up out of nowhere, wanted to spank her? Didn't he know that men and women ought to keep their distance?
For a moment Ying Ziyu felt she was going mad. But remembering Wei Zhao's utterly merciless commands a moment ago, she believed that he really might spank her!
"You... you wouldn't dare!" Ying Ziyu shot Feng Xiaoxiao a glare, thinking, where did this girl come from? She shows up and immediately suggests such a rotten trick. Why not spank her? Ying Ziyu had no idea that Feng Xiaoxiao hadn't been spanked by Wei Zhao, but had had her backside blown up with firecrackers — even more wretched!
"Whether I dare or not, you'll find out if you try." Wei Zhao grabbed Ying Ziyu by the collar as if he were picking up a chick, then looked at the thug students behind her: "All right, everybody disperse. At your age, you ought to know better than to play at being gang bosses. Go home and study!"
Seeing their big sister seized, Ying Ziyu's men likewise burned with anger in silence. This fellow was a complete madman, ruthless and vicious — cross him and he struck at once. Had they not seen the once-insufferable Scar Bear? Beaten out of all human shape; you could bet he wouldn't be leaving his sickbed for a year or two!
And these were only students. When it came to ruthlessness, they were naturally no match for a man of the world like Scar Bear. Even Scar Bear's men had run off — how would they dare stand against Wei Zhao?
Ying Ziyu glanced at her spineless underlings and felt rather helpless. To have them stand up to Wei Zhao was something they certainly wouldn't dare. Yet to simply wash her hands of them wouldn't do either! Scar Bear had thrown in with Brother Guang, and now that Wei Zhao had thrashed Scar Bear, Brother Guang would surely not sit by and do nothing!
