Chapter 3074 — A Reserved Seat

The Blossom Guardian

Huh? Not "as well"... How could it be "as well"? She didn't even like Wei Zhao!

"I mean... you're supposed to be protecting me and Xiaoshu—how can you go off protecting someone else?" Seeing that both Wei Zhao and Xiaoshu were staring at her oddly, Gu Mengyao flushed and explained, her words tumbling out in utter confusion.

"But Arrow-Shield Bro's assignment is already over, isn't it? Don't tell me Yaoyao's afraid someone will steal her spot as the young lady in Arrow-Shield Bro's heart?" Shen Yushu knew Gu Mengyao all too well and instantly voiced what was on her mind.

"How... how could that be? I just... um... just thought the finals are coming up soon, so Arrow-Shield Bro shouldn't be going on any long trips. And the New Year is only a month away..." Gu Mengyao's explanation remained hopelessly jumbled.

"It's fine. I'll have them move into the villa—I won't be going far," Wei Zhao said. "Besides, this assignment is a favor for one of my underlings, Feng Shipian. I couldn't very well refuse..."

"Oh, I see. Well, all right then..." Gu Mengyao thought that if they were moving into the villa, that was acceptable. Right under her and Xiaoshu's watchful eyes, Wei Zhao surely wouldn't get up to anything with that big star, would he? After all, she wouldn't even need to lift a finger—Xiaoshu alone could raise heaven and earth.

Hadn't Tang Yun and Feng Xiaoxiao both been rendered utterly speechless by Xiaoshu back in the day?

"Then I'll go get things ready—clear out two rooms on the first floor, then go pick them up." Wei Zhao nodded and went off to tidy the rooms. Granny Sun had already left, so the housework was now shared among them all.

Once Wei Zhao had gone, Shen Yushu said, "Yaoyao, don't worry. She's just some minor star—there's no way she could threaten your position. And if she ever gets any improper, dirty ideas about Arrow-Shield Bro, Xiaoshu will make sure she knows who the real wife of this villa is! Besides, Arrow-Shield Bro has already met Sister Shihan—how could some ordinary little star ever catch his eye?"

"When did I ever worry about that? I'm just afraid that star will be difficult to get along with..." Gu Mengyao would never admit it! Still, thinking it over, she had to agree: Wei Zhao had met the great star Xu Shilan herself. If he were going to pursue anyone, it would be Xu Shilan—how could he possibly take an interest in some minor starlet? At that thought, she felt considerably reassured.

"It doesn't matter. She's living on our turf, so she plays by our rules! She's the one who asked Arrow-Shield Bro to be her close guard—she's the one begging him. If she doesn't like it, she can pack up and leave!" Shen Yushu said.

Once Wei Zhao had finished preparing the rooms, it was about time, so he drove to Donghai Airport. Feng Sanhuang had bought a midday ticket and would arrive in the afternoon; his reasoning was that since danger was looming, the sooner he regrouped with Wei Zhao, the better he could guarantee Xu Shilan's safety.

In the green-channel VIP lounge at Donghai Airport—though the lounge was reserved for special guests and everyone here was waiting to meet people coming off the green channel, it was still fairly crowded, with the seats nearly all taken.

Wei Zhao looked around and spotted a rather good seat: a large sofa by the window that, remarkably, no one had taken. So without standing on ceremony, he walked straight over, sat down, and casually picked up a magazine to read.

The plane wouldn't land for another half hour—Wei Zhao had arrived a little early.

But he had barely read a few pages when an insufferably arrogant voice sounded from behind him, giving Wei Zhao quite a start!

"Your mother—who told you to sit here? Don't you know this is our Young Master Jun's reserved seat?" The voice rang out abruptly behind Wei Zhao! It wasn't that Wei Zhao hadn't noticed people coming up behind him; it was simply that the green channel had no shortage of people coming to meet flights, all bustling to and fro, and so long as they weren't coming to attack him, Wei Zhao had no reason to care what they were up to.

Wei Zhao frowned. A reserved seat, was it? But when he glanced down, his spot seemed to have nothing special about it apart from good lighting and being one of those more comfortable sofas.

"What are you looking at? Hurry up and give up the seat for our Young Master Jun!" The voice, seeing Wei Zhao look down, barked with palpable impatience.

If the seat really had been reserved, Wei Zhao would have gladly given it up. After all, despite his formidable strength, he had no wish to bully ordinary people over trifling matters—these days, his eyes were fixed only on cultivators.

But the seat was not reserved at all; there wasn't a single marking on it. That put Wei Zhao in a foul mood. He stood up, turned around, and looked at the man who had cursed him—a man in black. What surprised Wei Zhao was that although he couldn't gauge the man's strength, he was certainly a skilled fighter.

"Where does it say this seat is yours?" Wei Zhao asked coolly. The man might be skilled, but only by ordinary standards—Wei Zhao didn't give him a second thought.

The man in black didn't answer. Apparently he didn't even deign to look at Wei Zhao, for he simply reached out to shove him aside, wanting to push Wei Zhao out of the way without so much as an explanation.

But to his immense astonishment, one shove—and Wei Zhao did not budge an inch!

"You—" The fighter was startled. He knew his own strength well. Having failed to move Wei Zhao with one push, he immediately poured more force into his hands, laying bare the full extent of his late-stage Mystic-rank peak external arts cultivation!

He had expected this push—sure to succeed, no doubt about it—to send Wei Zhao flying. But to his horror, Wei Zhao remained utterly immovable, still standing right where he was!

"Smack!" Wei Zhao dealt him a slap that sent the Mystic-rank fighter flying outright!

"Boom!" With a tremendous crash, the Mystic-rank fighter slammed onto the floor, blood all over his mouth, teeth knocked loose—yet he felt no pain, for he had already been knocked unconscious!

"Out of the way! Out of the way!" Just after the Mystic-rank fighter was slapped flying by Wei Zhao, a commotion broke out at the lounge entrance, and a pale-faced youth, escorted by several burly men in black, came striding into the lounge!

But when they saw the Mystic-rank fighter lying motionless on the floor, his mouth full of blood, they were all struck dumb!

One of the burly men in black came running over in two strides: "Junior Brother, what happened to you? Who did this to you?"

Wei Zhao frowned. Since when had so many skilled fighters been turning up in Donghai City?
