Chapter 71 — A New Card
Battle Will Across the Vast Sky Page 2 of 2
Sailei spread her hands. "I'll refine my ideas first. Black steel is easy enough to get, but mystic treasures aren't. I had to put in a lot of effort to track this one down. For now I can only play with low-tier cards. In this system, the higher the card tier, the higher the requirements for the mystic treasure. It burns through money—I'll have to save up for a while first."
Tang Tang chuckled and produced a sword, handing it to Sailei. "Here, take this mystic treasure as a gift. I don't use swords—it's useless in my hands. You can use it to build a new testing device."
Sailei didn't stand on ceremony. She took it openly and teased, "Tsk, tsk—so the youth is indeed young and rich. One move and out comes a mystic treasure! So lavish that even this sister's heart flutters. This sister is the mercenary sort—she loves wealthy men the most. You're a bit young, but why not just yield to this sister? She'll take good care of you..."
When she took it and looked closely, she let out a cry of surprise. "Oh? The Rabbit-Silk Sword—a bronze mystic treasure of the Hare Constellation. This is the first time I've seen one."
"I just defeated a few Duo not long ago. They were ransoming themselves, and one little girl didn't have any soul cores on her, so I took this sword instead," Tang Tang said carelessly.
Sailei was stunned for a moment, then her eyes lit up with understanding. "I know who they are! Hee hee—youth, why don't you find another chance and rob them again? They carry plenty of good things!"
Sailei's eyes sparkled, stars seeming to float in them. Tang Tang felt a chill run through him and shook his head firmly. "Our grudges are settled. Unless they come provoke me again, I won't go looking for trouble."
Sailei's face was full of regret.
Bing suddenly spoke up. "Do you have any books on the history of Xuanshu City or the like?"
"You're interested in Xuanshu City?" Sailei looked a little surprised. "Xuanshu City isn't much of a city in the soul region—its history only goes back a thousand years or so."
"Soul region?" Bing keenly caught the two words.
"You don't even know the soul region? Where on earth did you primitive people come from!" Sailei gave them a strange look, but soon she furrowed her brows in thought. "If you head west, there's a small library. It'll have some relevant books, with detailed introductions. To be honest, I'm only interested in ancient machinery."
"Thank you!" Bing turned to leave.
Tang Yue was about to depart when he heard Sailei call out from behind, "Hey, godlike youth—remember to come by in a few months and see my new results!"
Tang Tang perked up at that and called back loudly, "Then it's settled! Godlike girl, you'd better give it your all!" He was truly looking forward to it—what kind of strange and wonderful things would his suggestion lead Sailei to create?
With that, Tang Tang waved to Sailei and leaped onto the bronze mechanical ostrich, rumbling away.
"Godlike girl..." Sailei was taken aback for a moment, then a smile spread across her lips. "What an amusing Duo. Hmm, he does look quite wealthy. If I can't hook a rich husband, I'll reel him in as a sponsor... Sailei with a sponsor—wow, that sounds amazing!"
"I should look around—is there any black steel left... I'm a little hungry... feels like I haven't eaten all day..."
"Ahhh, the last pack of biscuits is gone too... Heavens... why is this world so despairing..."
