Chapter 581 — The Eccentric Guests Around the Cult Leader

The Herdsman of the Wasteland Page 1 of 2

At the Spirit-Energy Transference Bridge, a young lord with two deer legs stepped out from the radiance, raised his head and looked around, his heart filled with immense shock. He murmured, "This world is far more vast and magnificent than Jingping. Gods and demons are everywhere... That brat actually built this Spirit-Energy Transference Bridge, and it can reach all the way to another world. Truly extraordinary workmanship. That little bastard clearly loves to dabble in this and that, never focusing on cultivation at all. Building this bridge must have cost him an unknowable amount of time—so how has his cultivation and strength still improved so quickly..."

"Chief!"

A guard beside him pursed his lips and said in a low voice, "Look at that deer-legged youth. Could he be the one in the painting Cult Leader Shen gave us?"

The Transference Bridge guards hurriedly produced Shen Mu's painting and compared it. Their eyes lit up. "The features are identical! But the youth in this painting has only one deer leg, while this one has two. Is it really him or not..."

As he hesitated, the youth strode down the stone steps with his two deer legs, clattering as he descended.

"No matter what—seize him first and talk later!"

The guard threw a glance at the others. They understood immediately. Each soared into the air, and all manner of divine abilities and primordial weapons erupted—sword pills, blade orbs, lofty towers, great halls, massive cauldrons, and other primordial weapons—swift beyond compare, crashing down with a thunderous roar, engulfing the deer-legged youth. Terrifying waves of power surged in all directions, and only after a long while did they finally subside.

The Spirit-Energy Transference Bridge was of vital importance, so most of those guarding it were experts—at minimum at the Life-and-Death Realm, and several powerhouses at the Spirit Bridge Realm.

The group each recalled their primordial weapons and quickly came to the edge of the altar, looking down. They saw only a stretch of white ground below, with no trace of the deer-legged youth.

The group was aghast. They searched in all directions, each pair of eyes blazing with light, illuminating a distance of over a hundred li. Suddenly they spotted the deer-legged youth appearing a hundred li away, running forward lightly on his two deer legs.

"Shoot him down with the Sacred Pupils!"

The guard shouted. The many guards' eyes rapidly condensed divine light, transforming into beams of terrifying power that shone toward the deer-legged youth a hundred li away.

Just as their pupil-technique divine abilities were about to land on him, the deer-legged youth suddenly vanished. When he reappeared, he was another hundred li away—now two hundred li from the Spirit-Energy Transference Bridge.

The group prepared to condense their pupil-technique divine abilities again, but the deer-legged youth vanished once more, no longer visible.

The group looked at each other in dismay, somewhat at a loss.

Just then, they heard a clattering sound from behind. Another youth walked out of the Spirit-Energy Transference Bridge, followed by a large chest.

The large chest had several legs and clattered as it walked, following behind the youth with delicate features.

"It looks like Cult Leader Shen's chest, but this person is not Cult Leader Shen..."

As the group hesitated, the youth, whose eyes were like stars and whose voice was very pleasant, said, "Is this Taihuang Heaven? Where are the true demons?"

The guard said politely, "Is this young brother from Jingping? What business do you have seeking true demons? If you're looking for demon heads, you can only go to the demon race's territory over there. The Imperial Preceptor of Jingping is training soldiers at Li City. You should go to Li City first and attach yourself to the Imperial Preceptor of Jingping—that will make things easier for you."

The youth shook his head. "I only want to collect some demon-god bodies and primordial spirits. Why would I seek out a junior like the Imperial Preceptor of Jingping? He is not yet worth collecting."

He was about to leave when suddenly an old man covered in wrinkles, carrying a large chest and bearing a great furnace on his back, walked out of the Spirit-Energy Transference Bridge, his face full of smiles, cheerful and jovial.

"Why is everyone coming from Jingping today such an eccentric?"

The guards wondered, "First came a youth with two deer legs, then came two eccentrics carrying chests..."

When the youth saw this old man carrying a furnace and a chest, his expression changed drastically, his face turning incomparably gloomy. "Mojiang, I've been looking for you for a long time!"

When the old man saw him, his expression also changed. The smile on his face stiffened. "Aba, ah, ah!"

"That's right, it's me—Xing'an!"

Xing'an's killing intent surged to the heavens. He said coldly, "Although you are no longer worth collecting now, you trapped me for so long. This grudge must be repaid..."

"Mojiang, you run so fast!"

The Spirit-Energy Transference Bridge flickered with light, and a man of incomparably massive build, draped in a great cloak, walked out from the bridge, carrying a great blade on his shoulder. He laughed and said, "Your chest is still the best—it turns into a boat and takes off running, so fast I could never catch up... Xing'an!"

"Heaven Blade!"

Xing'an's eye twitched. The chest behind him suddenly retracted its legs and hid behind him, clearly still remembering being dismembered by the Butcher.

Xing'an clasped his hands behind his back and said calmly, "You've also broken through the Spirit Bridge and entered the Heavenly Palace? A Mojiang, a Heaven Blade—two deities, both enemies! Heh heh, you can come at me together."

The Butcher's eyes blazed with light as he laughed heartily. "Xing'an, I chased you eighty thousand li and you still escaped. You're impressive! That old fellow Lizheng said your abilities were extremely strong. It's a pity Lizheng is dead, but you're still alive. I've long wanted to test you!"

Xing'an smiled slightly and said leisurely, "The Human Emperor Sword God? He ceased to be my match long ago. Come at me together. After I finish you off, I still need to hunt demon gods to enrich my collection."

The Spirit-Energy Transference Bridge flickered with light again, and an old man in blue robes with a slender figure walked out, his bearing extraordinary, like a high and mighty prince. He touched his two iron ears, found they were still there, and only then breathed a sigh of relief. He said suspiciously, "Was this bridge built by Shen'er? Shen'er has indeed grown more and more capable... Xing'an!"

"Kui Sou, that little brat Xing'an has cultivated into a deity!"

The Butcher shouted, "You're the weakest—be careful!"

The Spirit-Energy Transference Bridge flickered with light, and everyone's eyes could not help but brighten. A peerless beauty walked out from the radiance. Her beautiful eyes glanced about, and everyone was somewhat dazed.

"Xing'an?" she said in surprise.

"Grandmother Zhu, age a little more—don't make me lose my focus!"

The Butcher said angrily, "When the time comes, we'll all attack together and take this bastard down!"

From the Spirit-Energy Transference Bridge, another short old man walked out, carrying a black dragon spear on his back. He said leisurely, "Xing'an, you have quite the big mouth."

Behind him followed a thin, dry old man with a foolish grin. Catching sight of Xing'an, his expression changed drastically. He hurriedly turned to return to the Spirit-Energy Transference Bridge, but the old man with the black spear grabbed his sleeve, and he had no choice but to stay.

Xing'an's gaze shifted from Grandmother Zhu's face to the blind old man. He sneered, "All my old rivals have arrived. Perfect—I'll send you all on your way together."
